Where Do You Stand?
You can surround yourself with spiritual things and still assume you're exactly where you should be with God. You know the rhythms, you know the stories, you know how to look committed—so it feels natural to believe you’re already on the right path. And when you’ve been around church long enough, it’s easy to mistake familiarity for faith. But sometimes the greatest danger is feeling spiritually secure without ever letting God’s word take root in your heart.
In Romans 9, Paul confronts the difference between outward association and genuine faith. Not all who appear to belong to God truly do, and the distinction isn’t heritage or exposure—it’s whether the heart is responsive to Him.
And assumptions like these can quietly shape us until we stop asking the questions that actually lead to life.
Today Pastor Jeff teaches us that spiritual life can’t be inherited, borrowed, or performed—it’s the supernatural work of God’s Spirit within us. And as we let Scripture expose where we truly stand, we discover that God invites us into something deeper than outward identification—He calls us into real life with Him.
