Basics of Spiritual Growth

The year is 67 A.D. and Peter is Rome. He had gotten an impression from the Lord that his life would soon be taken by the Roman Emperor Nero. He senses a need to give a few last warnings to the Early Church while he still has time left. There were new teachers that had come on the scene claiming to have had new experiences/divine knowledge. Which put them on a higher spiritual level and allowed them to disregard Godly living. Therefore Peter writes this second letter to combat false teachers, to underscore Christian growth and ethics and to remind the Church about Jesus’ return.
