Playing With Fire
Many Christians know God’s Word well. They’ve heard it taught, they can recognize truth when they hear it—and yet over time, it becomes easier to admire God’s Word than to actually heed it. And when that happens, growth slows, and familiar struggles quietly remain. In Proverbs chapter two, Solomon speaks to those who already know the instruction of the Lord. These opening verses describe wisdom as something that must be received, treasured, and actively pursued. The language is intentional and repeated—inclining the ear, applying the heart, seeking, searching—because wisdom is meant to shape how we live, not just what we know. In today’s message, Pastor Jeff helps us see why wisdom doesn’t take root when it’s only acknowledged—and what God promises to do when His Word is truly received and applied.
