God's Heart Towards Sinners

This morning we are going to study a parable, the parable of the “prodigal son." We hear it referenced often and frequently among big name pastors and small congregations like ours. This is a story that reassures us of God’s grace and mercy! Many of you have read or heard this parable many times. This is a story that shows us God’s heart towards sinners. It’s a story that reassures us that God’s love for you isn’t predicated on what you’ve done in the past. Quite frankly we love this story because we see ourselves in the prodigal son. Many of us were that prodigal at some point. The term Prodigal means someone who wastes resources and lives recklessly and for the Christian is synonymous with living a life that goes against God.
