When We Ignore Wisdom

Jan 30, 2026

It’s often said that we can learn from wisdom or from consequences. Consequences will teach, but they come at a much higher cost than walking in wisdom from the beginning. Many times the issue isn’t rebellion—it’s being unteachable. Patterns repeat, warnings go ignored, and we face consequences that could have been avoided if we were willing to listen. In Proverbs chapter 1, Solomon lays a foundation for wise living by addressing the danger of remaining naive. He warns that when people refuse instruction and dismiss the lessons of the past, they often find themselves trapped in the same cycles again and again. In today’s message, Pastor Jeff helps us see what happens when wisdom is repeatedly ignored. He explains how rejecting God’s counsel leads to real consequences, and why Scripture consistently reminds us that what we sow, we will also reap.
