Trying So Hard is Exhausting!

A thermometer can be a useful tool in our lives, can’t it? We use it every day to see if we need to turn up the heat or turn on the A/C. It's a practical analogy for the limitations of the thermometer itself—it has the function of measurement but cannot alter the temperature. This analogy extends to the discussion of religious laws in Romans chapter 7. In our study today, Paul highlights the purpose of the law, emphasizing its usefulness in revealing the shortcomings in our lives. Despite our best efforts the law cannot change our inherently sinful nature. Therefore emphasizing the need for a transformative power beyond the law itself, which is found in faith in Christ. It raises a the question: How can we achieve victory and live a life aligned with Christ?
