As we continue through our study through the book of Acts, we come to the conclusion of chapter 2. After many witness the power of God at work in the disciples, Peter stands up to give a convicting sermon confronting the Jews of their sin in killing the Messiah. This was the first message preached by the power of the Holy Spirit and it was wholly focused on Jesus Christ, the gospel, the good news. BUT before it could be received, it had to produce conviction so peter spoke hard truth that jolted them in their tracks. This is often what we experience when we read God’s word. When we’re confronted with the truth of the gospel, it should leave us in a place where we have a change of heart. What does true repentance look like?
