What's Pleasing To God?

When you were growing up, what were some of the milestones you looked forward to? Was it driving at the age of 16? Was it voting at age 18? Maybe it was becoming a full grown adult at age 21? Whatever the privilege that came with each of these milestones in our culture, there’s also great responsibility! That’s the concept that we see taught in Romans 8. As we grow in our faith we come to understand our identity as Children of God. Which brings with it great privilege of intimacy & relationship with God as adopted sons and daughters. But with privilege comes responsibility to live according to the Spirit, putting to death the deeds of the flesh. Paul is emphasizing that this is a call to maturity and holiness! We can’t just enjoy the benefits of our relationship with God without actively participating in the sanctification, or changing process. What does this look like practically?
